The New Work Challenge

Purpose, meaning, fulfillment, connection, engagement: all these adjectives belong to work. The modern individual has an endless world full of possibilities, optionality, and opportunities few, if any, in other generations ever had. It’s like the endless library in Jorge Luis Borges’s short story “The Library of Babel.” With the expansion of prosperity over the last century, we face a different, unique type of work challenge: optionality.
